dc.description	In the early 1970s when he had barely turned thirty years old Vittorio Corbo was already a legend of sorts among development economists. His dissertation at M.I.T. became an instant classic a work that had to be read by anyone interested in understanding the dynamics of inflation in developing nations. It was published in 1974 by North Holland as 'Inflation in Developing Countries: An econometric study of Chilean inflation.' In many ways it was a book that stood side by side with the most influential works on the subject such as Felipe Pazos’ celebrated volume on the persistence of inflation in Latin America.
